Don't be fooled. Inside this thin coating of sweetness is a fiery core of total insanity.

December Photo Project 2012 -- Day Six

This afternoon I had the wonderful and unique experience of watching an artist at work, blowing glass ornaments. Barbara Sanderson of Glass Gardens NW invited me and several of her other friends to come to her workshop in Mukilteo, Washington and participate in the creation of glass ornaments.

I got several good photos of the entire process, which I will probably share in a later post. It was fascinating to watch! But for now, here's this:

There's a glass blob on the end of the tube heating up. That sucker was bright!

I have several pieces of Barbara's glass garden art in my garden, which I have documented in past posts.

  1. Too cool! There's a place on Granville island in vancouver that does cool things like that. I love to visit and watch an artist at work!!!! Can't wait to see more!

  2. Must have felt nice to be in such a warm dry place on a cool and wet PNW day! I can feel the 2700 degrees eminating from your picture!

  3. Glass work is fascinating. Think it would be fun to give it a try.

Gardening is a solitary activity. But blogging about it is a social phenomenon! I don't make money from my blog by advertising, or use it to drive customers to a business. If you liked my post, or my writing or photography, or even just one picture or turn of phrase, I'd love to hear from you. That's how I get paid.
