December Photo Project 2012 -- Days One and Two

Have you heard of the December Photo Project, sponsored by the blog View From The Prairie Box? To participate, you take one photo each day for the first 25 days of December and post it to your blog. To learn more about exactly how to take part, go to the link.

Last month I considered participating in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month), but I was pretty sure I couldn't write that many words a day. I suppose I could have tried finishing the short story I started a few months ago, but I just couldn't get excited about that. Maybe some day.

I'm going to try and post a picture a day. They might not all have to do with the garden, because in this climate that will mean going out in the cold rain to take photos. I figure my problem will be two-fold: either choosing which picture to post, when I take lots, or finding one worthy to post out of the many I take. Then of course there is the temptation to just grab one out of the backlog that I've never posted. Given that I often get sick at the holidays (and actually have been suffering from a cold for the last couple of days), that is a very real possibility. I'm going to keep my old pictures in a back pocket, just in case. Is that cheating? Well, Boo. Or maybe I'll just post lots of photos of lattes. Or food. Or my feet. Or my cats. Or a picture of the book I'm currently reading (I read a lot).

Anyway, watch this space.

Since it's already December 2, I'm going to post two today, to catch up. One I took yesterday, and one I took today.

Dec. 1 -- Pointsettias

Dec. 2 -- Wet Epimedium leaves. Big surprise there.

  1. I love the poinsetta photo. Wish I had heard about the project sooner. It is too dark now. Maybe next year. Can't wait to see what you find.

  2. Loved the post Alison, I had to smile. Lovely poinsettia. Have a wonderful day.

  3. What a fun challenge, i look forward to discovering what you decide is post worthy.

  4. What a fun idea! And, what a great poinsettia shot! Whenever I see one of these photo projects I think how fun it would be, then never do it. If I can get to it today, maybe I'll actually take part in this one...
It will be fun to see what you post each day.

  5. I'm impressed that you are up for this challenge on top of all the holiday stuff. The least we can do is follow along.

  6. Sounds like a great project. I wish all these challenges would not occur during the holiday season when we're all so busy. The poinsettia photo is gorgeous. It would make a beautiful Christmas card.

  7. Pretty poinsettias. Love the white flecked bracts. Will look forward to seeing what all you post over the month.

Gardening is a solitary activity. But blogging about it is a social phenomenon! I don't make money from my blog by advertising, or use it to drive customers to a business. If you liked my post, or my writing or photography, or even just one picture or turn of phrase, I'd love to hear from you. That's how I get paid.
