Brave Nursery Dares to Put Christmas Ornaments Front and Center

No mealy-mouthed "Happy Holidays" for Molbak's during a recent visit. Their "Merry Christmas" wishes were everywhere.

There's that forbidden word. Don't they know there's a war on Christmas?

There it is again. Scandalous.

Nothing says Christmas like greed and commercialism.

Bah. Humbug.

  1. Between anxiety over national politics and international crises (and now fires here in SoCal!), I'm finding it hard to feel festive this holiday season too, Alison, but I'm steering clear of the malls and throwing the relentless e-mail messages advertising gift-buying opportunities in the trash. I'm hoping to find some of the Christmas spirit in decorating with the holiday ornaments I've had for years, assuming that the winds here die down and I can buy a tree that still has needles on it.

  2. Dear Ms Scrooge, I sometimes share your dismay at the greed and commercialism piece; other times it's fun to simply revel in the carnival that Christmas has become.
    With love from your pal,

Gardening is a solitary activity. But blogging about it is a social phenomenon! I don't make money from my blog by advertising, or use it to drive customers to a business. If you liked my post, or my writing or photography, or even just one picture or turn of phrase, I'd love to hear from you. That's how I get paid.
