Wednesday Vignette

If there's one thing we grow well here in the PNW, it's moss and lichen. If you stand still long enough it might even grow on you. For my Wednesday Vignette today, I'm sharing a series of images of our specialty, from the recent Hardy Plant Study Weekend.

  1. Lucky PNW! They help give that special atmosphere to a garden.

  2. I've had a wood bench outside for years and it still does not look that good. My dream bench!

  3. Love it! Believe it or not, some moss even grows here, although it goes into hiding as the weather turns hotter and drier. We NEVER get lichen, though.

  4. I took a photo of that bench too!
This morning was so muggy I thought I might mold.

  5. Love the moss! (A good thing because we sure have our share of it.) You got some great shots. Our inherited Japanese maple has started growing moss/lichen over the last few years and it thrills me.

  6. The leaves in that first pic look like giant green hands about to grab something.

Gardening is a solitary activity. But blogging about it is a social phenomenon! I don't make money from my blog by advertising, or use it to drive customers to a business. If you liked my post, or my writing or photography, or even just one picture or turn of phrase, I'd love to hear from you. That's how I get paid.
