Wednesday Vignette

My Wednesday Vignette this week is another image from the recent Capital Region Fling. It's a bee staying quite still on an Echinacea flower, taken on the last evening of the Fling just before dinner at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna, Virginia. I'm not sure if he's asleep or drunk but he never moved, even when I got up close and personal.

  1. Maybe he's just exhausted from the heat and humidity. A very photogenic bee.

  3. I always want to pet them when I find them like that but I resist the impulse, not wanting to wake the busy creatures from what I'm sure is a well-deserved nap.

  4. They say red is a a stressful color. Obviously, the bee doesn't think so at all. Beautiful shot, Alison!

Gardening is a solitary activity. But blogging about it is a social phenomenon! I don't make money from my blog by advertising, or use it to drive customers to a business. If you liked my post, or my writing or photography, or even just one picture or turn of phrase, I'd love to hear from you. That's how I get paid.
