Garden Bloggers Bloom Day -- August 2018

Oh God, do I have to?

Do I really have to go out in the garden in the heat and the drought and the wildfire smoke and look for flowers that don't look like shit, so I can pretend to everyone that I actually still have a somewhat presentable garden that isn't burned to a crisp like the entire Trump family in whatever future Hell their souls will surely be consigned to?

Fine.

This Opuntia actually flowered on August 3, but the flowers are so fleeting, I wanted to record it here

Lost Id Dahlia, but it's a big 'un

Another Lost ID Huge Dinnerplate Dahlia, another big 'un

Dahlia 'Totally Tangerine'

NOID Dahlia

The Begonias are keeping me sane (and the definition of sane is debatable).

Lobelia cardinalis 'Queen Victoria'

Orange Alstroemeria

Cardoon

Coreopsis

Ornamental Oregano 'Kent Beauty'

Allium wallichii ex China (from Far Reaches Farm)

Daucus carota 'Dara'

Scabiosa

Echinacea 'White Swan' (and ubiquitous hose spoiling every view)

Verbena bonariensis

Eucomis 'Sparkling Burgundy'

These Nasturtiums (all three flowers are on the same plant) are like the three stages of despair.

Almost despairing

Despairing

Beyond despair
