Annual Pilgrimage to Sky Nursery

Every year around this time, not long after the NWFGS, I make my annual trip to Sky Nursery north of Seattle. Sky was the very first nursery I shopped at when we first moved here to Washington state, and it holds a special place in my heart and memories. Yesterday morning I drove up to check it out.

There were plenty of grasses to choose from

Suddenly it seems Cryptanthus are everywhere

Rhododendron 'Hansel' -- the tag said it has salmon orange flowers, but every photo on Google shows salmon pink

I don't know why, but it seems to me that the nurseries north of Seattle -- Swanson's, Sky, and Molbak's -- all seem to stock up on plants much sooner and more quickly than the ones within easy driving distance of my house. But then, it makes for a fun field trip!
