Don't be fooled. Inside this thin coating of sweetness is a fiery core of total insanity.

Wednesday Vignette

For my Wednesday Vignette I'm sharing the photo below, from a trip that Nigel and I took last month to Disneyland in California. After our snow and unseasonable cold weather in February and early March we needed a few days somewhere warm and sunny, where we could be pampered and eat food that was bad for us.

Water droplets on an Agave attenuata

These water droplets on an Agave attenuata leaf are in the Cars Land area of Disney's California Adventure -- in the courtyard in front of one of the restrooms, in fact. It's chock-full of enormous Agaves.

Shadows on Agave attenuata

Most of the Agaves here are Agave attenuata and Agave americana, I think

Strangely crumpled Agave -- I think I've seen this effect when something has prevented the leaves from unclasping

It was nice to get away, but of course by the time we got back our weather had returned to normal temperatures, if not our normal rainy pattern. March 2019 was the second driest on record since 1945.
